Vietnam records 177 traffic accidents during 4-day holiday

HANOI, May 4 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam recorded 177 traffic accidents during the Reunification Day and May Day holiday from April 30 to May 3, leaving 95 people dead and 114 others injured, the Vietnam News Agency reported Monday.

Road accidents accounted for the majority, with 176 crashes, while one fatal accident was reported on the railway, and no waterway accidents were recorded.

Traffic police detected more than 53,800 road violations nationwide, along with 799 inland waterway violations and 366 railway violations, with several vehicles temporarily impounded.
