BEIJING, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- Zhao Leji, chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, on Tuesday offered congratulations on the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
China is delighted to see new and steady progress achieved in Laos' socialist construction under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, which has significantly enhanced Laos' international and regional influence, Zhao said in a congratulatory message to Saysomphone Phomvihane, president of the Lao National Assembly.
As the China-Laos relationship is currently developing with a positive momentum, Zhao expressed his willingness to work with Saysomphone to follow through on the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two parties and countries, guide the legislative bodies of both sides to strengthen exchanges and cooperation and take the opportunity of the 65th anniversary of China-Laos diplomatic relations next year to push for greater progress in the building of the China-Laos community with a shared future.
