Laos marks 75th anniversary of Lao Front for National Development

VIENTIANE, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- The Lao Front for National Development (LFND) marked the 75th anniversary of its founding with a commemorative event.

Speaking at the event on Wednesday, Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune, president of the Central Committee of the LFND, highlighted the LFND's 75-year journey, emphasizing its pivotal role in promoting national unity and supporting the Party's comprehensive reform policy.

He noted the LFND's contributions to maintaining political stability and advancing national development, according to Lao National Radio report.

Also speaking at the event, Thongloun Sisoulith, general secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and Lao president, commended the LFND's achievements and urged it to continue upholding its traditions and core values.

He called on the organization to remain close to the people, serve as a unifying force, mobilize all sectors of society to participate in protecting and developing the country, and foster a spirit of independence, self-reliance, and responsibility for the nation's destiny.
