Vietnam's import-export turnover up 15.7 pct in 5 months

HANOI, June 6 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam recorded a total import-export turnover of 355.79 billion U.S. dollars in the first five months of 2025, marking a 15.7 percent increase year-on-year, according to the National Statistics Office (NSO) on Friday.

The Southeast Asian country posted a trade surplus of 4.67 billion dollars during the period.

Exports reached 180.23 billion dollars, up 14 percent from the same period last year, while imports rose by 17.5 percent to 175.56 billion dollars.

Seven product categories achieved export revenues of over 5 billion dollars, including computers and electronic components, textiles, footwear and timber products.

China remained Vietnam's largest import market, with an estimated import value of 69.4 billion dollars in five months, the office said.
