HANOI, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Wednesday instructed the State Bank of Vietnam to study preferential credit packages to support people and businesses in overcoming the consequences of recent floods and typhoons, Voice of Vietnam reported.

In a dispatch issued on Wednesday, he urged local authorities in affected provinces and cities in the central and southern regions to assess and compile damage reports following typhoons Fengshen and Kalmaegi in late October and early November.

The prime minister asked local authorities to mobilize forces to assist residents in rebuilding their homes, with completion targeted by Dec. 31, 2025, to ensure that people will have new houses to celebrate the New Year.

He also ordered the immediate restoration of essential infrastructure, especially schools, medical stations and hospitals, to ensure the continuation of education and healthcare services.
