Vietnam sets goal to recycle 70 pct of industrial waste by 2030

HANOI, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam has set a goal of recycling up to 70 percent of its industrial solid waste and treating 60 percent to 80 percent of wastewater by 2030, using domestically developed technologies and equipment, the local media VNExpress reported Friday.

The target was part of a newly approved national program for developing the environmentally friendly industry during the 2025-2030 period, which outlines plans to establish legal frameworks and industrial clusters.

The government will offer investment incentives for enterprises that adopt and transfer environmental technologies, aiming to attract foreign investment and promote export of domestic products.

Vietnam also plans to establish national industrial centers focusing on innovation, technology transfer, and green product commercialization.
