MANILA -- The Philippine government is accelerating its efforts to eradicate tuberculosis (TB) in the Southeast Asian country by 2035, the Department of Health (DOH) said on Saturday.

JAKARTA -- A landslide triggered by heavy rain damaged a worship center and killed two people in the Indonesian province of West Sumatra on Saturday, a local official said.

The disaster took place at around 6 a.m. local time in Agam Regency of the western province. Bambang Warsito, head of the regency's disaster mitigation agency, told local media that the two victims were inside the worship building hit by the landslide. (Indonesia-Landslide)

ISLAMABAD -- At least four people were killed and 17 others injured in separate rain-related incidents in Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said on Saturday.

HONG KONG -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 jolted Vanuatu region at 09:58:32 GMT on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
