SYDNEY -- Passengers on a cruise ship docked in Australia's Sydney were forced to evacuate due to a fire that broke out onboard.

The ship moored at the White Bay Cruise Terminal caught fire on Friday morning. Two passengers were assessed by paramedics but were not transported to the hospital. (Australia-Cruise Ship-Fire)

ISLAMABAD -- At least five tribesmen were killed and another injured in an armed confrontation on Thursday between two tribes in Bolan district of Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province, officials told media.

According to the officials, the clash took place in Bagh-i-Nari area of the district over a land dispute which resulted in an exchange of fire. (Pakistan-Tribesmen-Death)

COLOMBO -- Sri Lanka will release 588 prisoners on Saturday on presidential amnesty to mark the country's 75th Independence Day, a senior official said on Friday.

Commissioner of the Department of Prisons and Spokesman Chandana Ekanayake said 557 of them are those rehabilitated by courts on drug-related offences. (Sri Lanka-Amnesty)

HANOI -- Vietnamese authorities have seized nearly half a ton of ivory smuggled by sea, local media reported on Friday.

The customs and coast guard authorities of the northern city of Hai Phong found a container carrying a total of 117 pieces of ivory tusks, weighing 490 kilograms, mixed with imported farmed cow horns at its Lach Huyen international port on Thursday, Vietnam News Agency reported.
