PHNOM PENH, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- The Cambodia national football team lost to Bangladesh 1-0 in an international friendly here Thursday night.
Played at the capital's Morodok Techo National Stadium, the game attracted approximately 10,000 avid football fans.
In the first half of the game, the Bangladesh squad took the lead in the 23rd minute after a goal scored by forward Rakib Hossain.
Entering the second half, the Cambodia team tried their best to retaliate, but failed to earn a goal until the final whistle.
Cambodia has never beaten Bangladesh across five matches in more than a decade. Its record includes four losses and one draw.
In the FIFA rankings, Cambodia sits in the 174th place, while Bangladesh is in the 192nd spot.
