NEW DELHI, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Defending champions Japan had a convincing 5-0 victory over Myanmar in a Group C game at the ongoing Women's Asia Football Cup in India's southwestern state of Maharashtra on Friday.
Japan dominated the game right from the very beginning, possessing the ball for 71 percent over the 90 minutes.
Riko Ueki opened the scoring in the 22nd minute for Japan. Yui Hasegawa and Hikaru Naomoto made it 3-0 early in the second half. Yui Narumiya added the fourth before Hasegawa scored her second goal of the match in the stoppage time.
The other Group C match between South Korea and Vietnam will be played later on Friday.
