Vietnam reports 13,109 new COVID-19 cases

HANOI, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam reported 13,109 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, including 13,094 locally transmitted and 15 imported, according to its Ministry of Health.

Most of the community cases were detected in southern localities, including 1,809 in Ho Chi Minh City, 897 in Can Tho province, and 707 in Binh Duong province.

The infections brought the total tally to 1,181,337, with 24,544 deaths, said the ministry. Nationwide, as many as 955,256 COVID-19 patients have so far recovered, up 12,368 from Thursday.

Over 116 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines, including nearly 47.4 million second doses, have been administered, according to the ministry.

As of Friday, the country has registered over 1,176,000 locally transmitted COVID-19 cases since the start of the current wave in late April, the ministry said.
