Vietnam reports 10,508 new COVID-19 cases

HANOI, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam reported 10,508 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, including 10,496 locally transmitted and 12 imported, according to the country's Ministry of Health.

The new infections brought the country's total tally to 635,055, with 15,936 deaths, the ministry said.

Most of the community cases were detected in southern localities, including 6,312 in the epicenter Ho Chi Minh City, 2,178 in the nearby Binh Duong province, and 777 in Dong Nai province.

As many as 398,461 patients have so far recovered, up 12,683 from Monday, while over 30.3 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccines have been administered nationwide, according to the ministry.

As of Tuesday, Vietnam has registered a total of 630,661 locally transmitted cases since the start of the current wave in late April, the ministry said.
