NMMC receives medical, laboratory supply donations

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, May 27 (PIA) - The Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) through the Department of Health (DOH)-10 has received on Tuesday, May 26, medical and laboratory supplies donations from former vice governor of Misamis Oriental, Joey Pelaez, and incumbent Vice Governor Jigjag Pelaez.

Former Misamis Oriental Vice Governor Joey Pelaez together with the office of Vice Governor Jigjag Pelaez with the assistance of the Medical Assistance Program International and Children International Philippines, Inc. donated various medical and laboratory supplies and Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to the NMMC through DOH-10.

The donations include breathing circuit, nebulizers, N95 face mask, hypodermic syringes, PPEs, tracheostomy care set and other supplies to be used by the front-liners in region 10.

"We have donated this high quality medical supplies to help the NMMC since it is the referral hospital for COVID-19 patients. A 40 footer container van with various medical supplies had arrived ... and that what we had brought here today is just a sample of the donations. Dr. Jose Chan will get the rest of the supplies in my residence," former governor said.

"We are thankful for these donation from the office of former Vice Governor Pelaez and the Children International Philippines for their support to our frontliners. This will be a great help for us," Dr. Chan said.

Aside from the NMMC, donations shall also be extended to various provincial hospitals and rural health centers to assist the frontliners in their fight against COVID-19. (JAKA/PIA10)
