Vietnam's confirmed COVID-19 cases increase to 318

HANOI, May 16 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's Ministry of Health confirmed late Saturday afternoon four new cases of COVID-19 infection, bringing the total in the country to 318, with no deaths reported.

The four new cases, aging from 19 to 41, are all Vietnamese people who have recently returned to the country from abroad, the ministry said, noting that the country reported five new cases in total on Saturday.

Vietnam has recorded no local transmission for 30 straight days, the ministry said.

The country has 131 suspected cases with over 9,000 being monitored and quarantined while 260 had totally recovered from the COVID-19 as of Saturday evening.
